"Life is like a gift, they say, wrapped up for you everyday..."

Friends,

Big news! I have decided to re-name the blog. Perhaps the inspiration came from two of my best buds who recently started blogs of their own..."Life with Leslie" just wasn't cutting it. So, I decided to borrow Sarah McLachlan's words because she says it pretty well. Not only is it a beautiful song, but the words are perfect. I believe that everything happens for a reason...I also believe in living in the moment and appreciating the little things. This song captures all of that. It's a good anthem to play over and over again when times are good or when life hits a low and we need a little reminder...

Right now I'm feeling pretty good. Why you might ask? I'm happy that I've found a career that I'm genuinely passionate about. I'm looking forward to some pretty awesome professional development jobs on the horizon. And I'm grateful to connect with old friends and visit with family during this break from school. The weather has been a dream in FL and I'm loving this little break from classes and from New York. It's been great to re-energize so that I can finish up the last few weeks of the school year with a bang.

I'd like the new title of my blog to serve as a reminder for us to find ordinary miracles in our daily lives. Shouldn't be too hard--they happen all the time. What are some ordinary miracles that you are thankful for?

Here are a few of mine...

*the twist of fate that introduced me to Beth El...and ultimately led me to cantorial school

*that I ended up with a stellar student pulpit for next year...one that wasn't even on my radar going into the process

*the sun shining down on my face, just the right amount of heat mixed with a cool breeze, clear blue skies, and the smell of ocean in the air

To ordinary miracles!
*L

"Ordinary Miracle"

It's not that unusual
When everything is beautiful
It's just another
Ordinary miracle today

The sky knows when it's time to snow
Don't need to teach a seed to grow
It's just another
Ordinary miracle today

Life is like a gift, they say
Wrapped up for you everyday
Open up, and find a way
To give some of your own

Isn't it remarkable?
Like everytime a raindrop falls
It's just another
Ordinary miracle today

The birds in winter have their fling
And always make it home by spring
It's just another
Ordinary miracle today

When you wake up everyday
Please don't throw your dreams away
Hold them close to your heart
'Cause we are all a part

Of the ordinary miracle

Ordinary miracle

Do you want to see a miracle

It seems so exceptional
That things work out after all
It's just another
Ordinary miracle today

The sun comes out and shines so bright
And disappears again at night
It's just another
Ordinary miracle today

It's just another
Ordinary miracle today
